Good news for anyone who wants to travel sustainably and flexibly in the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân. Since July 2026, the bike-sharing network has been expanded from one to six locations, spread across Sneek, Bolsward and Makkum. With this move, Deelfiets Nederland and the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân are taking the next step together in promoting sustainable mobility.
The expansion builds on the pilot scheme that was launched in 2025. The aim of this partnership is to make sustainable transport more appealing, improve accessibility within the municipality and offer an accessible alternative to short car journeys. Five shared bikes are available at each location, so that residents, visitors and leisure users can easily hop on a bike.
Free use between 09:00 and 19:00
To encourage the use of bike sharing, you can use the shared bikes free of charge every day between 09:00 and 19:00. New users pay a one-time fee of €1. Outsides these times, the standard rate of €1.50 per hour applies.
The shared bikes are available at the following locations:
- Bolsward – Harlingerstraat (Het Oortje car park)
- Bolsward – Sneekerstraat (near Jumbo/Aldi)
- Makkum – Strandhotel Vigilante
- Sneek – Alexanderstraat car park
- Sneek – Truffelsteeg cycle park
- Sneek – P+R station
You can easily reserve and unlock a shared bike via the Deelfiets Nederland app. After use, simply return the bike to one of the droppoints within the municipality.
